The quality of the item is good. It makes gripping the camera feel a little easier and a little nicer. Hopefully it will provide mild cosmetic protection as well. Some of their colors are pictured with a black base. I asked if I could have a black base to match my black camera. I never heard from them. In fact, I never heard from them about anything. I received it with a silver base.
